Shipping Process Started!

Hey everyone! We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a delightful start to their week! We’re happy to announce that the wait is finally over as we’ve started the shipping process for our backers.

What is the current status?

We’re working swiftly and it’s our mission to keep it that way. With that being said, the task in hand isn’t a simple one. We’re currently tackling package groups one by one. We start by inspecting the plates thoroughly and assembling them based on the orders. For larger orders that have few add ons, we’ll be leaving the assembly to you since we don’t know the combination in which you like. We take great measure and care to ensure that you are satisfied with you order!

What shipping carrier is being used?

We’re using USPS for both our domestic and international backers, however due to some limitations that are in place for certain countries, we’ll be using another carrier.

When should I expect my wallet?

Since we are tackling the package groups one by one, the order in which we’ll follow for shipping will start from the returning backers and we’ll move up the tiers. You’ll receive a tracking notification email from Backerkit. You’re also welcome to log in to your Backerkit account if you have created one but please do note that addresses can no longer be modified. If your address needs modification, please message us. 

It's safe to assume that all orders, including pre-orders will be shipped by end of this month. We understand the wait has caused some uneasiness, however we want all of our backers to acknowledge that shipping has begun and we greatly appreciate your patience.

Preparation : Part 2

Hey guys! We’re getting closer than ever and  we want to share our progress with you since many of you have voiced your concerns regarding delayed shipping.

First and foremost, regardless, we want to thank all of you for your patience and understanding. As many of you may know, production of any product has its challenges but luckily for us, we were able to sort most of it out before the end of our campaign. If challenges are not handled correctly, it can lead to an unfinished and rushed product that can make you unsatisfied and that isn’t part of our fulfillment goal.

Status

As mentioned in the previous update, we were lacking few of the components for a finished wallet. We’re happy to finally say we have majority of it in hand and the rest at its final stages of production that are quite minor but sometimes take time due to our manufacturers lead time. 

Quality Control 

We can't stress this point enough, we hate to send unfinished products for the sake of sending out rewards! We carefully inspect every part and put ourselves in your shoes to make sure we can hit a high ceiling on backer satisfaction.  Even when handling the plates we take extra precaution to not scratch them, because no one likes scratches! 

Shipping is getting closer and once we get rest of the needed parts delivered to us, they will go through inspection, packaging and shipping! We hate delays as much you do and our only priority is to get the wallets to your hands.

Hi everyone, we’re grateful for your patience and we can’t stress that enough! We’d like to cover few points in this update to clear why there’s been a delay.

Current Status

As much as we hate delays and keeping our backers waiting longer than expected, unfortunately they do happen. Our delays have been out of our control and are for a good reason. Since the wallet is consisted of different parts, they do require different level of attention and we use different suppliers and manufacturers. We’re constantly working with them to make sure we can have the parts ready on time, however when one supplier has a slight delay, it holds us back from having a complete wallet.

Here’s a breakdown of our manufacturing: (For All Batches)

• Elastic Bands: Ready
• Inlays: Ready
• Aluminum Mid-Plates: Ready
• Carbon Fiber Mid-Plates: Ready
• Titanium End-Plates: Final Stage, Waiting on manufacturer (Bead Blast Finishing)
• Carbon Fiber End-Plates: 400 in hand, Waiting on manufacturer
• K-Tool: Waiting on manufacturer to finish (2-3 days)

Attention to Details

We care about the craftsmanship of our wallets and want to make sure that you are satisfied with them. Apart from prototyping, during production, hiccups do occur that need adjustments and we make them quickly without sacrificing the quality. Small details matter to us and we don’t want to ship a product that is incomplete or has minor problems.

Examples:

As it can be seen in the picture above, our quality control and adjustments in manufacturing allows us to get satisfactory results. Products with defects are a no go for us.

Shipping 

We’re all fully prepared for shipping and as soon as the remaining parts are delivered to us, we’ll be able to quickly pack and ship. All of our wallets will be shipped via USPS and we have different protocols in place for international countries so we can ensure that you can receive your wallet. Tracking will also be provided to all of our backers and you can check the status though Backerkit. Also quick note to remember, although we were initially going to send the wallets in batches, we’ll be shipping all the wallets at the same time.

We hope everyone had a wonderful start to their New Year! We’re back with a info-packed update!

Shipping Dates

Since many have asked us for an estimated shipping date, we’re pleased to say that shipping for the first batch will occur in 2 weeks and the following batches will follow thereafter.

Production:

Our production is ongoing and we’re constantly coordinating with our manufacturers to eliminate delays. With the holidays out of the way, we’re going full gear towards finishing our production. We’ve initiated a plan to continuously manufacture different parts of the wallet at the same time to cut down on lead time.

Carbon Fiber

Carbon fiber comes in different forms and finishes. Since many have wondered, the carbon fiber that we use, is indeed real carbon fiber. For our end-plates, we use high gloss 6k 2x2 twill vacuum infused panels. For our mid plates, we use proprietary carbon fiber panels that are custom made for our purpose. Prior to production, we've tested different carbon fiber panels to ensure it meets our standards.

Holiday Update

New Year is almost upon us and we're back with a much needed update! First and foremost, we want to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a very Happy Holiday season and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

Production:

Production is moving forward regardless of the holiday season and we’re excited to share our progress with you. As mentioned in the previous update, we were short on materials, however last week we got our full shipment of grade 5 titanium sheets. 

Meeting the highest quality standard of manufacturing is our focus. In order to achieve that, we've deployed a multi-step manufacturing process that will yield the best results. Before cutting the sheets, we re-surface and polish both sides of the panel. Re-surfaced sheets are then cut using a water jet.

Once the end-plates are cut, they're again passed on to another manufacturer that is responsible for re-surfacing each side to ensure a defect free surface for bead blasting. 

Our manufacturing process may appear quite lengthy, however the end result will be ever so rewarding because not only do we want to meet your expectation, but our goal is to exceed them with a wallet that is every bit premium!

Carbon Fiber

Although we didn't get the opportunity to document the manufacturing process of the Carbon Fiber counter parts in our last visit to our manufacturer, rest assured, they're being taken care of. The process is somewhat similar but we take a much greater care due to its nature of material.

The Carbon Fiber sheets are manufactured right here in the U.S. and we maintain a close relationship with our provider. Panels used in this project are custom made to our specification using Vacuum Infusion method. 

We're nearing a finished product and we're thankful for your support and understanding!
